New Cadillac Models Announced

New Cadillac models

The premier name in luxury vehicles has just gotten more luxurious and powerful. Cadillac has announced the arrival of two new track-oriented luxury cars, effortlessly blending world-class speed and handling with the class and style with which Cadillac has become synonymous. The 2020 CT4-V and the 2020 CT5-V are new Cadillac models, both set to shake up the market of luxury track cars upon their release.

Both the CT4-V and the CT5-V will be available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Both makes come with a V-series performance chassis, a 10-speed automatic transmission, Brembo front brakes, Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, limited-slip rear differential, and a whole host of other performance-enhancing features.

The CT4-V is a spin on the soon-to-be-released CT4 sedan. Its turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine will give you 320 horsepower and 369 lb-ft. of torque, ensuring that you will never want for power. Its 50/50 weight distribution will optimize balance and enhance the car’s grip upon the road.

The CT5-V is a variant on the new CT5 sedan. Performance tires around 19-inch wheels and a high-output 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine boasts 355 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. of torque, making it the ideal combination of raw power and Cadillac grace in one luxury model.

Cadillac Announces Plug-in Hybrid for the CT6

Ever since the range-topping CT6 sedan was announced by Cadillac, we just keep getting more and more excited. And now, Cadillac is adding another phenomenal option: a plug-in hybrid for the CT6.

Cadillac made the announcement at the Shanghai Auto Show, but didn’t say when it would be available. The standard gasoline-powered CT6 will be coming to dealerships in December, with the plug-in hybrid coming later.

With the hybrid system, Cadillac says the fuel efficiency should be at least double what the gasoline-powered version will get. While Cadillac didn’t offer a number, industry experts expect it could be at least 40 mpg combined. It is also expected to offer a large enough all-electric driving range for most daily commutes.

“The first-ever CT6 is a technological showcase throughout, making it an ideal platform for Cadillac to offer its first plug-in hybrid,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen, in a statement. “In the CT6, Cadillac presents a new formula for prestige luxury. The advanced Plug-In Hybrid system is a key addition, providing a combination of exceptional fuel economy, crisp acceleration and strong electric-driving range.”
