We all want to work somewhere where we feel connected, appreciated, and like we are making a difference. If you work for General Motors, you probably do feel this way. Achiever recently recognized GM by featuring it on its 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ list.
Like its name implies, this award recognizes exemplary employers who display innovation and leadership when it comes to creating an engaging workplace. According to Achiever, an engaged workplace demonstrates eight key elements: leadership, communication, vision and values, accountability and performance, culture, corporate social responsibility, rewards and recognition, and professional and personal growth.
Achiever also evaluates employers based on their staff. It defines an engaged employee as someone who is “inspired and often inspires others,” is “passionate and committed every day,” and is “fully involved in and enthusiastic about their work.”
With these requirements, it was easy for GM to claim this honor. Just within the past few years, the manufacturer has shown how successful it can be by expanding its emphasis on electric vehicle production, addressing customer issues, and considering and incorporating suggestions for improvement. This recognition for the brand is even more impressive because GM is the only automaker included in the list.
