If you’re looking for the perfect new luxury sports car to carry you around in style and comfort and impress the hell out of anyone you pass, you’re looking for the new Cadillac CTS-V. The CTS-V, which will be here in our inventory sometime this summer, has been redesigned for the 2016 model, and the Cadillac design team’s work definitely paid off.
The new CTS-V looks very muscular and aggressive, ready to take on any driving challenge you might have for it. Plus, it has a 6.2-liter V8 engine sitting under the hood. That gigantic engine is capable of gigantic numbers, too; it gets up to 640 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque, both huge upgrades over the previous model. Also, the Cadillac CTS-V features Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and more.
“The new CTS-V is the most compelling example of Cadillac’s product substance and brand trajectory. The new CTS-V soars into the stratosphere of the most exhilarating luxury cars,” Johan de Nysschen, Cadillac President, said. “The new CTS-V is essentially two cars in one: a luxury sedan with sophisticated road manners and a track-capable sports car with awe-inspiring performance.”
The CTS-V knows that you’ll want to relive your achievements behind the wheel over and over, and so it comes with the Performance Data Recorder system first introduced on the Corvette. Come see us at Richard Karr Motors to learn more today.
We hope you enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend—and that you took time out of your day to remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country’s freedom and values. Here at Richard Karr Motors, we are proud to announce that the GMC Military Discount remains available to all veterans throughout the month of June, as we continue to honor those who served in the military.
The extended discount is part of GM Military Appreciation Month, which began back on May 1, 2015. The discount is available to all veterans, regardless of separation date, and applies to all vehicles—even Denali trims. Kathryn Scott, a veteran who lives in Reidsville, Georgia, recounted how easy it was to use the discount: “The process was easy—all I had to do was show my DD Form 214 separation papers and my dealer took care of everything.”
If you come see us at Richard Karr, we will also take care of everything for you. If you’re a veteran of any branch of the military—Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, or the National Guard and Coast Guard—come see us to take advantage of the discount today. For everyone else—you never know what kind of great deals we’ll have going on here, so make sure to stop by and check out our inventory very soon!
The GMC brand provides customers with an unprecedented level of “precision,” as the brand’s new marketing campaign of the same name highlights. The attention to detail and professional grade design and materials are nowhere as evident as they are on the GMC Denali trim, the topline trim of the brand’s SUVs and pickup trucks. The reviews of the 2015 Denali trim are in, and they all say the Denali is the best luxury trim available.
The Denali trim adds things like chrome wheels and other chrome accents on the outside, while the inside features soft-touch surfaces, leather seats, and refined design and performance features all across the vehicle. The heavy-duty truck customers seem especially attracted to the Denali line, with 44 percent of all heavy duty trucks sold having the Denali trim. The light-duty trucks, on the other hand, only boast a 12% Denali trim rate.
If you want the power of a truck and the interior of a premier luxury car, come see us here at Richard Karr Motors to learn more about the Denali trim today. You’ll find out how truly silent the cabin is, how great the infotainment and other technology features, and the most comfortable interior furnishings available, so come see us today!
For General Motors, offering the best fuel efficiency possible is important, which is why the American carmaker now offers General Motors’ eAssist technology in a variety of GM vehicles. Through a combination of different functions, the eAssist technology reduces fuel consumption, increasing the length of time between visits to the gas pump and decreasing the strain gas puts on your wallet.
The eAssist technology uses both Stop-Start engine capability and a 115-volt lithium-ion battery, which powers a 15-kW electric motor-generator. This allows the engine to stop running in certain conditions, saving a significant amount of fuel. Though the engine stops, the vehicle’s steering, radio, and interior functions all continue to run. As the brake pedal is released, the engine restarts itself, allowing it to accelerate at a normal rate. The eAssist system even uses the electric motor-generator to help the vehicle accelerate under hard acceleration or at cruising speed.
Other enhancements of the system include underbody aerodynamics, which streamline the car, along with wheels and tires that are optimized for performance and fuel efficiency. For more information on General Motors’ eAssist technology, contact Richard Karr Motors today!
Ever since the range-topping CT6 sedan was announced by Cadillac, we just keep getting more and more excited. And now, Cadillac is adding another phenomenal option: a plug-in hybrid for the CT6.
Cadillac made the announcement at the Shanghai Auto Show, but didn’t say when it would be available. The standard gasoline-powered CT6 will be coming to dealerships in December, with the plug-in hybrid coming later.
With the hybrid system, Cadillac says the fuel efficiency should be at least double what the gasoline-powered version will get. While Cadillac didn’t offer a number, industry experts expect it could be at least 40 mpg combined. It is also expected to offer a large enough all-electric driving range for most daily commutes.
“The first-ever CT6 is a technological showcase throughout, making it an ideal platform for Cadillac to offer its first plug-in hybrid,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen, in a statement. “In the CT6, Cadillac presents a new formula for prestige luxury. The advanced Plug-In Hybrid system is a key addition, providing a combination of exceptional fuel economy, crisp acceleration and strong electric-driving range.”
Which version of the all-new Cadillac CT6 would you prefer?
Even amongst its segment, the GMC Terrain has created a niche for itself. According to CNET, “GMC refers to the new Terrain as a ‘compact SUV.’” But it’s at least two feet longer than your average compact SUV. The Terrain seems to be quite comfortable in the no-man’s land between full-size and compact. That’s a very cool thing.
GM is likely promoting the Terrain as compact because they know compact buyers are going to love it. It’s simply going to feel like a compact SUV with more room and not like a bulky, full-size SUV that feels like a tank once you get in a parking garage.
The 2016 GMC Terrain, a mid-cycle refresh, recently debuted at the New York International Auto Show. CNET acknowledged its “rugged” looks while praising its “smart” qualities, which include a touchscreen Intellilink head unit including navigation as well as OnStar telematics services. The “compact” SUV is big on safety as well, with a rear-view camera and forward collision alert among other features.
All in all, the refreshed 2016 GMC Terrain maintains the SUV as a solid, reliable, attractive and relevant choice among its segment
Cadillac and Bose are teaming up to bring the first-ever Bose® Panaray® sound system to the first-ever Cadillac CT6. Joining forces for the first time in 1980, this isn’t the first rodeo for the two companies; and the result is an astounding sound system you won’t believe is meant for your car.
The Panaray is the first in Bose’s revolutionary new line of “Advanced Technology Series” sound systems. A whopping 34 speakers are littered throughout the cabin of the CT6 sedan to provide the optimum listening experience with clarity, precision, and high quality deep bass.
“We asked Bose to create something truly special for this new vehicle” an unbounded sound system, providing an audio experience unmatched in any other luxury automobile,” said Travis Hest, executive chief engineer for the CT6. “Cadillac CT6 customers will be elated by what they hear and feel when they switch on the Bose Panaray system.”
We at Richard Karr Motors have been trying to wait patiently for the arrival of Cadillac’s all-new sedan. However, when we learn of exclusive features like this Bose sound system, it makes the early 2016 release date seem forever away. Oh well; we all have to wait together, so at least we’re in good company.
One thing that never gets old is the taste of a good burger. In the next few months, there will be three new Waco restaurants offering their unique flavors to the burger selection right here in town. The California-based company In-N-Out Burger is looking to set up shop with their famous animal-style burgers and cult following somewhere around Interstate 35 and South Fifth Street.
The highly anticipated Twisted Root Burger Company will be taking over the old Texas Playhouse building. On the marquee will be such burgers as the “Frito Bandito,” “Spicy Goat,” and the Texas based company’s own “Big Tex.” Construction on the Twisted Root will begin next month and the first “Big Tex” will be available in time for the autumn driving season.
Last, but not least, Wataburger is looking to open a location near our old Richard Karr dealer location on Lake Air and Valley Mills. We love our new facility here at the “Motor Mile,” but just for old time’s sake it’s a nice drive back to the original lot and soon the new Wataburger burger-joint will be a nice nostalgic lunch destination.
We hope you will be able to get out and enjoy some of these new restaurants to the Waco area, and also be sure to come visit us at Richard Karr Motors.
As millions of college basketball fans across America gear up for the annual March Madness tournament, Buick has decided to have its own version of the tournament. The American carmaker has developed its own “Sweet 16” bracket that pits 16 trick-shot artists against each other in a new Buick.com promotion.
The Buick March Madness Tournament asks the public to vote for the best trick shots in head-to-head matchups and the competition is fierce! Competitors include four-year-old Trick Shot Titus, who has drawn millions of views on YouTube, along with dunk specialists Team Flight Brothers and the Dunking Devils.
“They’re pretty incredible,” said Molly Peck, Buick’s director of marketing and advertising. “It’s going to be a hard time selecting one to win. Some are amazing feats of coordination, some are amazing feats of physics.”
